Middletown’s Kyle Schwarber hits his 21st postseason home run, 12th with the Phillies

Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber homered Saturday to lead off the bottom of the first inning of National League Division Series Game 1 against the New York Mets.

It was the former Middletown High School’s 21st career home run, which ranks fourth in MLB history.

Last October, Schwarber hit his 20th career postseason home run and fifth of the 2023 NLCS against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He hit the most home runs of any player in NLCS history.

Saturday’s home run was his twelfth in his third postseason with the Phillies.
