After days of speculation that Davante Adams could be traded by the Oakland Raiders, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has broken his silence on a possible reunion.

Adams’ unrest with his current team has been consistent over the past year and has increased over the past week.

The fact that Gardner Minshew is the quarterback and Adams will turn 32 at the end of this season apparently motivates him to pursue better opportunities.

One of the most likely destinations is that the Jets will have a second stint with Rodgers as his quarterback after the two played together in Green Bay for eight seasons.

“I don’t know how much I can say about it because of tampering, but I still have a close friendship with him,” Rodgers said. “We spent time together in the offseason. He’s a great guy and a great player. The rest of that is out of my control.’

The New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys have also emerged as possible destinations for Adams.

The Raiders appear open to dealing the frustrated receiver for the top pick, with a package including a second-round pick as a starting point.

New York is 2-2 this season, but with a healthy Rodgers behind center, fortunes are looking up. That would only increase if Adams came into the fold.

The Saints are a legitimate contender to land Adams in New Orleans with Derek Carr starting at quarterback, who previously played with Adams in Las Vegas.

However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned the Kansas City Chiefs as a team the Raiders would not trade Adams to.

The Chiefs could be in the market to strengthen their wide receiving core following an injury Sunday to Rashee Rice, who was placed on injured reserve Thursday.

Other teams that have been mentioned as possibilities for Adams for exceeding expectations this season include the Steelers and Commanders.

Both Washington and Pittsburgh have young, mobile quarterbacks in Jayden Daniels and Justin Fields.

Adams, who has three years left on his contract and will make $35.6 million in 2025 and 2026, would likely become the No. 1 receiver on his first day with the Steelers or Commanders.
