    The Krabby Patty meal is coming to a Wendy’s near you on October 8, but only for a limited time. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of ‘SpongeBob SquarePants,’ the fast-food chain is launching its Krabby Patty Kollab, complete with the restaurant’s take on the iconic Krabby Patty, fries and a Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty.

    What could be better than serving a smile? Starting next week, fans can finally taste the iconic Krabby Patty that has us tickled imagination for decades since the beloved Nickelodeon show first aired in 1999. Columbus-based Wendy’s is bringing the concept to life in restaurants across the country.

    “It makes sense that two of the most iconic squares in pop culture are teaming up to bring a taste of this unique, limited-time experience to life for fans of all ages!” Lindsay Radkoski, Wendy’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, said in a press release this week.

    While we don’t know the secret formula yet, here’s what you need to know about Wendy’s Krabby Patty meal.

    Here are the menu items at the Krabby Patty Kollab, according to Wendy’s:

    • Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty: A combination of Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty and a pineapple-mango flavored puree swirl.
    • Krabby Patty Kollab burger: Wendy’s version of a Krabby Patty consists of a quarter pound of Wendy’s beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion and a top-secret Krabby Kollab sauce on a toasted bun. It has been compared to a Dave’s Single cheeseburger from Wendy’s, but unlike the original Krusty Krab version, Wendy’s recreation has a square patty.

    When is Wendy’s x SpongeBob Krabby Patty Kollab coming out?

    For a limited time, the chain will debut the Krabby Patty Kollab meal nationwide on October 8 at participating Wendy’s and on the Wendy’s app.

    You don’t need a driver’s license to drive a sandwich. If you want to try the new meal for yourself, there are 406 locations to choose from in Ohio, including 35 in Columbus, 24 in Cincinnati, nine in Cleveland and six stores in Akron.

    While many SpongeBob lovers are excited about the Krabby Patty Kollab meal, other fans criticized the rollout, noting that it goes against the wishes of the late Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of “SpongeBob SquarePants,” who died in 2018.
