What’s happening, Vegas? – October 2024

Bellagio Conservatory Harvest

Bellagio Conservatory’s fall exhibition, Harvest, is open 24/7 and can be viewed now through November 9e free. While the Conservatory looks and smells like fall, the weather here in Vegas still feels like summer. Average daily temperatures in October are in the mid-80s, with nighttime lows taking a dramatic turn into the 50s. This is perfect outdoor weather, especially if you want to take advantage of the hiking trails and outdoor spaces; However, keep in mind that the weather in October can be unpredictable and all over the place, so keep a close eye on the weather forecast and pack accordingly. The seasonal pools will close in October depending on the weather. So if you want to experience one last pool day in Vegas, contact the property you’re staying at for more information.

Construction of the F1 begins on Strip

In most cities, October is the time of year for color-changing leaves and pumpkin spice. Here in Vegas, it’s time to get ready for Formula 1. The Las Vegas Strip is already being prepared for the event (which takes place in November), with track lighting being installed just off Las Vegas Blvd and lane closures in Las Vegas. Blvd, across from Bellagio. The trees, which are in pots, will be removed and the track lighting and stands for the event will be raised. This means that the sidewalk in front of the Bellagio Fountains is closed. If you want to attend the Bellagio Fountain shows, you can watch them across the street at Paris and Planet Hollywood, the bridge connecting Bellagio to Cosmopolitan or the bridge connecting Bellagio to the Grand Bazaar shops.

Bottled blonde construction

Speaking of the Grand Bazaar stores, the Bottled Blonde construction has really taken off and is expected to open in 2025. Next door in Paris is the exterior of the Versailles Tower, as well as the bridge connecting Paris to the Versailles Tower in Horseshoe. completely.

We can’t talk about construction without mentioning the Tropicana, which closed its doors last April.

Tropicana

The building is expected to be imploded on October 9 at 2:30 ame. This event has led to an increase in room rates and there are even viewing parties. For example, The Foundation Room in Mandalay Bay hosts an implosion party that sells out. This is the location of the future MLB ballpark for the A’s.

Halloween Fremont Street

Of course, Halloween is a big event here and takes place over several days. The biggest party is during the Fremont Street Experience, which lasts several days, in addition to the real Halloween night, and it gets busy!

Alter Igor Fremont St experience

There are numerous pub crawls and costume contests at various clubs in the Vegas Valley. Halloween is a really fun time to visit Vegas and we always get asked if people dress up. Of course, these are just the special events taking place and all the regular Vegas shows are still happening. There are so many smaller shows happening in Vegas that should definitely be added to your list. We recently enjoyed two shows that have been in Vegas for decades, Marriage Can Be Murder and Purple Reign. Both shows were also featured on our television show, Ninth Island Connection, which airs nationally in all Cox Cable markets on YurView.

Marriage can be murder

Marriage Can Be Murder is a comedy, murder mystery dinner theater show that draws audiences into the interactive show. The show’s creators and stars, Eric and Jayne Post, keep the audience engaged and laughing as they try to figure out ‘whodunnit’. Marriage Can Be Murder is located in The Orleans, just off the Strip. Visit their website www.marriagecanbemurder.com for more information

Purple Reigm, courtesy of Jason Tenner

Purple Reign is a must for music lovers, especially those who love music icon Prince. Jason Tenner created and stars in this award-winning show that takes place in the V Theater in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. With the live performance of classic hits by Prince, but also by Morris Day and The Time, the audience can’t help but dance and sing along. For more information, visit www.purplereign.net

As always, make sure you stay up to date on any event you plan to attend, as events in Vegas are being canceled and added daily. Also check the policies of both the artist and the venue if you plan to attend an event, as many venues and artists have restrictions on what is allowed inside. For the most up-to-date information about Las Vegas, follow our weekly life on our Ninth Island Connection YouTube channel. We’ll go live on Wednesday between 12pm and 1pm PST and bring you an update on what to expect this coming weekend.

Whether you’re a Las Vegas Local or just visiting the Ninth Island, make sure you get out and explore this beautiful state! Watch this video to learn more about each of these destinations, or tune in to Ninth Island Connection on YouTube or YurView (Channel 14) on Wednesdays at 9 p.m.
