Buccaneers vs. Falcons Inactive Report

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ inactive list for Thursday’s primetime game in Atlanta consists largely of the five players who were ruled out due to injury the day before.

Defensive lineman Calijah Kancey will miss his fifth straight game due to a calf injury suffered during the final practice before the start of the regular season, though he may be close to returning to action. Head Coach Todd Bowles said Kancey had a chance of being cleared if the game had been played on Sunday instead of Thursday.

All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield Jr. and starting right tackle Luke Goedeke will each miss their fourth consecutive game. Winfield is recovering from a foot injury suffered in the season opener and Goedeke is working through concussion protocol.

Rookie wideout Jalen McMillan is out for the second week in a row due to a hamstring injury he suffered during practice last Friday. Fellow receiver Trey Palmer joins him on the inactive list after suffering a concussion during the team’s win over Philadelphia in week four.

The Buccaneers and Falcons submitted their inactive lists at 6:45 p.m. ET on Sunday, 90 minutes before the scheduled kickoff of their game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. After selecting wide receiver Trenton Gill and wide receiver Cody Thompson from the practice squad on Saturday, the Buccaneers had 55 available players and thus had to name seven inactives to reach the game-day limit of 48. The Falcons elevated offensive lineman Matt Hennessy and inside linebacker Josh Woods from the practice squad and also had to name seven inactives.
