Experts’ Picks Week Five: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hit the road for their second away game in week five, this time to Atlanta to begin a stretch of three intra-division games in four weeks. It is also the first primetime game of 2024 for the Buccaneers, taking place on Thursday evening at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game is the first intra-division contest for the Buccaneers, and those games within the NFC South often take on a life of their own. There are plenty of reasons to like both teams, the analysts said. Some mentioned O-Line issues for the Buccaneers, while others noted that Atlanta puts the most pressure on opposing quarterbacks in the league. Atlanta’s two-headed attack was a deciding factor for one analyst, but another noted that Tampa Bay gets motivation from being an underdog. Another analyst noted that short-week Thursday games often turn into “slogs” and thinks the Bucs have more team chemistry to handle those types of games.

The Buccaneers are 1.5-point road underdogs, but they have plenty of support from the experts. This is what some of them say:
