    Detroit Tigers’ MLB playoff schedule, BTW: dates, time, TV channel

    The Detroit Tigers advance to the MLB playoffs for the first time since 2013.

    The Tigers advance to the American League Division Series after a 5-2 victory over the Astros in Game 2 of the AL wild-card series Wednesday. The Tigers advance to face the AL Central champion Cleveland Guardians in a best-of-five series in the ALDS. The series begins with two games in Cleveland on Saturday and Monday, followed by a Game 3 next Wednesday in Detroit, a Game 4 (if necessary) in Detroit on Thursday, October 10 and a Game 5 (if necessary) on Saturday, October 12 in Cleveland.

    The Tigers will host a home game, and possibly two, at Comerica Park for the first time in a decade. Cleveland has had a week off as one of the top two division winners in the AL and was scheduled to host three of the five games. On the other side of the bracket, the New York Yankees will host the winner of the Kansas City Royals and Baltimore Orioles in the other AL wild-card series.
