There’s also a lot to like about the team’s emerging group of wide receivers, all of whom contribute in different ways.

Acquiring Davante Adams would be an upgrade over anything outside of Terry McLaurin. However, it has the potential to disrupt the current trajectory of this offense. It could easily go the other way, but it’s a journey into the proverbial unknown for everyone involved, despite the elite-level attributes he brings.

Trading for Adams is a win-now move at a time when the Commanders are still seen as an organization in the process of rebuilding. If those in the reception room made no difference, it’s a different story. Fortunately, that is not the case for the franchise. And the likes of Noah Brown and Luke McCaffrey will only get better with more exposure.
