Israel will face ‘crushing attacks’ if Netanyahu responds to missiles, Iran warns | World news

Iran warns of serious retaliation against Israel after a missile attack on Tel Aviv. The Israeli military says it will respond at a chosen time.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards will carry out “crushing attacks” on Israel if the country retaliates for the rocket attack, a statement from the Fars news agency said. “If the Zionist regime responds to Iranian operations, it will face crushing attacks,” the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps said after Iran launched a missile attack on Israel’s Tel Aviv.

What the Israeli military said about the attack

However, Israel vowed to retaliate and said it would respond at the time and place of its choosing.

“This attack will have consequences. We have plans and we will operate at the place and time we determine,” Israeli military spokesman Admiral Daniel Hagari said, according to the AFP news agency.

The Israeli military also said it had intercepted a large number of missiles fired into the country by Iran, but that there were some “hits” during the barrage.

“We conducted a large number of interceptions. There were some hits in the center and other areas in the south of the country,” said Daniel Hagari.

The US had warned Israel about the attack

This came after the United States warned of an impending Iranian ballistic missile attack on Israel, warning that it would have “serious” consequences for Tehran. The attack was Iran’s second attack on Israel after a missile and drone strike in April in retaliation for a deadly Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

Israel said almost all of the ammunition fired in that attack was intercepted by Israel or its allies.

Iran had previously warned that the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and General Abbas Nilforoushan, a top commander of the Quds Force, the Iranian Guard’s foreign operations wing, “will not go unanswered.” They were killed in an Israeli attack on Beirut on Friday.
