It’s not every day that someone plays for $1 million Wheel of Fortune. But on a recent episode, one contestant had a chance… only for it to end in disappointment.

On the September 16 episode of the popular game show, viewers watched the contestant Vivian Trans as she competed to win the top prize in the bonus round. People witnessed her standing next to the new host Ryan Seacrestwhose “heart was racing” as he had not experienced a competitor trying to win $1 million until that point. Because the puzzle category ‘What are you doing?’ was, Vivian guessed the letters ‘C, H, M, I and P’ to try to fill in the blanks. Later, when the prompt on the puzzle board read “_ _ _ ERINGS _ ME HELP,” Vivian tried to guess what the possible sentence might be.

“Do you need help?” Vivian guessed it in a video that was posted Wheel of Fortune‘s Instagram. “Are you answering for help? Looking for help? Looking around for help? Limit for help?”

Unfortunately for her, the complete sentence of the puzzle was, “I’m offering some help.” Although Vivian was initially frustrated because she didn’t know the right answer, Ryan unfortunately made things worse. He opened the envelope and revealed what she could have won if she had done it right… and it was nothing but a $1 million prize.

Upon seeing Vivian’s Wheel of Fortune A guessing mistake left fans shocked at what happened – and their hearts went out to her in the comments.

“I literally gasped when Ryan revealed she had the Million. 😮,” one person wrote. “I know how hard it is up there…enjoy what you solved!! You made it on the show…that’s an achievement!!!” another wrote. “Omg I wanted to cry for her!! We screamed the answer too!!!” added another viewer.

Although Vivian’s journey continues Wheel of Fortune didn’t turn out as she had hoped, there was one silver lining. She still won a total of $27,300 even though she lost the huge sum of money she took home.

“It turned out great, a little painful, but I’m grateful for the opportunity,” she said Maggie Sajak in another video on Instagram. “I knew the last two words… but the first one… I couldn’t understand the syllables. It lasted ten seconds, so by the time it got to the eighth second I was like, ‘Ugh,’ and I got it missed.”
