Verizon service has been restored to more customers after more than 100,000 outages reported Monday

Service has been restored to more Verizon customers after thousands of people reported losing their signal on Monday.

Downdetector, an organization that monitors website outages based on user reports, says 13,400 Verizon outages have been reported as of 5:30 p.m. That was down from 104,000 at 11:45 am

Cincinnati was one of the cities with the most reported outages, along with Columbus and Indianapolis.

“Verizon engineers are making progress on our network issue and service is being restored,” the company wrote in an X-post at 5 p.m. “We know how much people rely on Verizon and we apologize for any inconvenience some of our customers may have experienced today. We continue to work around the clock to fully resolve this issue.”

The company has not yet announced a cause for the outage.

The Federal Communications Commission wrote in an X-post at 2:25 p.m The committee was aware of the outage at Verizon and is working to determine the cause and extent of the service interruptions.

At 1:17 PM ET, Downdetector received approximately 55,000 more service problem reports than normal, down from more than 100,000 earlier in the day.
