New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos second half thread

The first half of the New York Jets’ Week 4 game against the Denver Broncos is in the books and the Jets lead the Broncos by 6 points at 6 – 0.

The game started with the Jets on the attack. Disaster struck immediately. Aaron Rodgers was sacked on the first play of the scrimmage. On the third play, Garrett Wilson fumbled and the Broncos recovered at the Jets’ 30-yard line. Not so good.

Fortunately for the Jets, the defense was up to the challenge, pushing the Broncos back and out of field goal range on a three-and-out possession.

The Jets were pinned at their own 1-yard line by the Broncos’ punt. A quick three-and-out left the Jets punting at the back of their own end zone and resulted in the Broncos having great field position at their own 48 to start their second drive of the game. This was not how the Jets envisioned starting this game on offense.

The Jets defense once again bailed out the offense, pushing the Broncos offense back on another three and out. Early on, the defenses dominated both teams’ attacks.

The game continued with neither offense getting a first down until 2:07 of the first quarter. At that point, the Broncos fumbled, the Jets recovered at the Broncos 34-yard line and were immediately within scoring range.

The Jets got the first down of the game on a pass interference penalty in the end zone, giving them the ball on the one-yard line as the first quarter came to a close.

The Jets failed to make a run against a stout Broncos defense and had to settle for a short field goal and a 3-0 lead early in the second quarter.

If you are a fan of defensive football, then this game is for you. Neither team could do anything on offense for the rest of the first half, until the Jets ended the half with a drive for a field goal.

The Jets enter the locker room with a 6 at 6-0 lead in an ugly game.
