Source – 49ers’ Deebo Samuel expected to play against Patriots

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is expected to play Sunday against the New England Patriots, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Samuel missed the 49ers’ loss to the Los Angeles Rams last weekend with a calf injury.

Samuel was a limited participant on Thursday and Friday after not practicing on Wednesday. He is officially listed as questionable to play against the Pats.

“I came back feeling pretty good and we went to training the last two days and still felt good,” Samuel said on Friday. “So we’ll just see how it goes.”

His calf injury occurred late in a Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, leading 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan to suggest Samuel would sit out “a couple weeks.” But Shanahan was pleased with his progress this week, giving Samuel a chance to play against the Patriots.

“I think I’m exactly where I need to be with the information I’ve been given and the time frame fits in pretty well,” Samuel said Friday.

The 49ers also get back George Kittle (hamstring), but left tackle Trent Williams is listed as questionable due to a sore toe.
