Kalen DeBoer approaches the referee after a missed pass interference call

Kalen DeBoer’s Alabama team had a dominant first half against Georgia. At halftime, the Tide had a 30-7 lead over the Bulldogs.

Although DeBoer’s team was doing well for the most part, the coach was still irate after an apparent missed call.

Late in the 2nd quarter, Jalen Milroe threw a pass intended for Germie Bernard. However, Georgia’s Daniel Harris appeared to make contact with Bernard well before the ball arrived. No penalty was assessed for what appeared to be blatant pass interference, and DeBoer was absolutely livid.

DeBoer ripped off his headphones, jumped up and down and threw his playing tray. The headset in question was reportedly broken.

Furious at the refs while leading by 23 points is a very Nick Saban-esque move by DeBoer. DeBoer is usually calm and collected, so seeing the coach react this way was unexpected, to say the least.

While that play didn’t go the Tide’s way, almost everything else did. At halftime, Milroe has completed 19 of 21 passes for 199 yards, with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. The QB also added 106 yards on the ground with 2 scores.

Alabama’s defense has also given Georgia a tough time. Carson Beck has completed just 8 of 17 passes for just 98 yards with 2 INTs. Alabama totaled 355 yards of offense in the first half, compared to Georgia’s 178.

With a win, the Tide would remain perfect all season as they look for a return to the College Football Playoff.
