European football: Barça’s perfect start to the season ends with a humiliating Osasuna | European club football

Croatian forward Ante Budimir scored twice to help Osasuna achieve a shock 4-2 home win over the leaders Barcelona and give the visitors their first defeat of this La Liga season on Saturday.

Bryan Zaragoza, on loan from Bayern Munich, crossed for Budimir, who opened the scoring with a close-range header in the 18th minute. The 23-year-old winger extended Osasuna’s lead with a goal from a quick counter-attack ten minutes later.

Barça reduced the deficit thanks to a huge blunder by Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera, who failed to prevent a weak strike from Pau Víctor in the second half, but Budimir extended the hosts’ lead from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute, after being soiled in the box.

Substitute Abel Bretones scored the fourth with a brilliant strike from long range, before Lamine Yamal scored a late consolation with a shot from the edge of the penalty area. Barça top the table with 21 points, four points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, who have a game in hand and face Atlético Madrid on Sunday.

Dusan Vlahovic scored twice to help Juventus 3-0 win over Genoa and rise to first place in Serie A overnight, by overtaking Belowwho had earlier briefly gone on top after a double from Lautaro Martínez, helped them win 3–2 at Udinese.

Vlahovic converted from the spot as Juventus were awarded a penalty for a handball after half-time before scoring again from a tight angle in the 55th minute. Substitute Francisco Conceiçao sealed the victory late with a low one-touch finish.

The match in Genoa was played behind closed doors after crowd violence during the Coppa Italia derby against Sampdoria left more than 50 people injured. Juventus, who have drawn each of their last three league games 0-0, top the table with 12 points from six games, one point ahead of Torino, who host Lazio on Sunday.

Juventus coach Thiago Motta believes there has been too much criticism of Vlahovic. “I think you’re paying too much attention to one player,” Motta said. “He has always been very good. I understand the expectations and needs of a striker at this level. But as I said from the beginning, he is a positive leader who helps a lot.

“I’m happy because he scored, but I was also happy when he didn’t. He needs to improve and be more connected to the team because he is an important player in many aspects of our game. He is doing well and he must continue to work as he is doing.”

Lautaro Martínez scored and assisted either side of half-time Below to a 3-2 victory Udinese in Serie A, as the defending champions recovered from a three-match winless streak in all competitions.

Davide Frattesi put Inter ahead after 43 seconds after an excellent low cross from Matteo Darmian before Udinese defender Christian Kabasele equalized with a header in the 35th minute.

However, Martínez restored the lead for the visitors when he bundled the ball over the line in first-half stoppage time to make it 3-1 just after half-time. Lorenzo Lucca pulled one back for Udinese in the 83rd minute.

Inter are on 11 points, level with Milan, who defeated Lecce 3-0 on Friday, and Torino.

Later on Saturday, Atalanta took a point against 10 men Bologna in the 90th minute thanks to Lazar Samardzic. In Germany, the leaders of the Bundesliga Bayern Munichdrew 1-1 at home against the champions, Bayer Leverkusen.
