When is it? Why are there two?

If you’ve been on Facebook recently, you’ve probably noticed a plethora of posts dedicated to daughters in honor of National Daughter’s Day on Wednesday, September 25. Now it’s time for the boys to hear it.

Saturday, September 28 is National Son’s Day. But if you think we’ve already done that, you’re right! National Son’s Day takes place twice a year, the first time in March.

Why the double dip? Here’s what you need to know.

Why are there two National Sun Days?

The first National Day of the Son takes place every year on March 4. According to The Economic Times, Jill Nico declared March day as National Sons Day in 2018 as a way to encourage meaningful conversations between parents and sons.

Some blame social media for the doubled, quasi-holiday, as the two dates came about in the age of influencers, some of whom chose March to celebrate while others chose September. NationalToday.com also designates both dates as National Sunday Day. So whatever day you celebrate, make sure you give one out for your son(s) this year.

September 25 is the only National Daughter’s Day.
