Hassan Nasrallah killed in Israeli attack in Beirut, IDF confirms

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was killed on Friday in an IDF attack on Hezbollah’s headquarters in Beirut, the IDF announced on Saturday morning.

Nearly 32 years after the Lebanese terror organization Hezbollah co-founded, its leader Hassan Nasrallah was assassinated along with Ali Karaki, Hezbollah’s southern front commander, and other Hezbollah commanders.

The Israeli Air Force attacked Hezbollah’s central headquarters using accurate intelligence from the intelligence department and defense system. The headquarters were located underground, beneath a residential building in the Lebanese capital.

The attack, carried out by Israeli Air Force aircraft, targeted Hezbollah’s central headquarters in Dahieh, Beirut. Jerusalem Post reported on Friday.

“This is not the end of our toolbox,” IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said this in a statement after the announcement of Nasrallah’s death.

“Those who threaten the citizens of the State of Israel – we will know how to reach them – in the north, in the south and even in places further away,” Halevi added.

“After a long period of preparing many capabilities for Lebanon, we have started implementing them. This attack was also prepared for a long time and carried out at exactly the right time,” he continued.

“We will now continue with keen preparation for the next steps. Ultimately, I emphasize once again that we maintain maximum preparedness in all our sectors. All forces, including coordination with other organizations, must be well coordinated and well prepared.” Halevi concluded.

Nasrallah and top commanders coordinated the attacks

The underground command center was embedded beneath a residential building, the IDF noted in its report on Saturday, where Nasrallah and his top commanders were coordinating terrorist activities against Israel at the time of the attack.

During Nasrallah’s 32 years of leadership of Hezbollah, he was responsible for planning and executing multiple terrorist operations, including attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers, as well as international attacks that killed other nationals worldwide.
