The Orioles’ magic number for the top Wild Card position is two. Baltimore can extend its quest for an AL East crown by at least one more game with another win over the Yankees.

Baltimore secured a spot in the postseason with a win last night. The team celebrated the milestone and acknowledged the hardships of the second half. We’ll see tonight if there’s any hangover from the postseason celebration.

Gunnar Henderson and Jordan Westburg will lead the way and form the double-play combination. Anthony Santander, Colton Cwser and Cedric Mullins will move into the outfield, while Ramón Urías and Ryan Mountcastle will handle the corners. Ryan O’Hearn will fill in as DH and James McCann will catch starter Zach Eflin.

The O’s take on Marcus Stroman tonight in New York. The Yankees placed Nestor Cortes on the 15-day IL with a left elbow flexor strain.

The Orioles announced earlier today that Grayson Rodriguez will not pitch this season.

Baltimore could easily take on the Yankees at some point in the postseason, and the Birds will look to set the tone with another win at their place tonight.
