Anna Delvey’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Partner Reacts to Her ‘Iconic’ One-Word Reaction to Elimination

Anna Delvey’s “Dancing With the Stars” partner Ezra Sosa was one of the few people not surprised by her reaction to their elimination.

After the pair were eliminated from the competition on Tuesday night, co-host Julianne Hough asked the convicted felon what she would “take away from the competition” – to which the 33-year-old replied: “Nothing.”

Her blunt, one-word response quickly went viral on social media; however, Sosa said he “wouldn’t expect anything less” from the brazen Delvey.

“I knew she was going to say something very iconic and quintessentially Anna Delvey with her departure,” Sosa told “ExtraTV.”

“Of course she should,” the 23-year-old added. “It’s typical.”

Although the ‘fake heiress’ appeared emotionless in front of the cameras, the professional dancer said she apologized behind closed doors.

“She kept apologizing,” he said. “She was really upset that my first season was cut short and I said, ‘No, don’t apologize. I’m here for you and this was your journey.'”

While Delvey’s final words left a bad taste in the mouth for some, the young dancer insisted she is an “incredibly sweet” — but “misunderstood” — person.

“I think the people who treat her as ‘Anna Delvey’ feel the need to show that to them,” Sosa said. “But when I was dancing and teaching her, I really tried my best to just see her as the person she is outside of her persona and she’s really so sweet.”

“I really loved getting to know her and dancing with her every day.”

Sosa has been one of Delvey’s biggest supporters since her controversial casting was announced earlier this month.

However, he admitted during a recent podcast appearance that the fashionista – whose real name is Anna Sorokin – “didn’t know what she was getting into” by joining the show.

While Sosa said the fraudster had a “pretty good work ethic,” he acknowledged it was “hard” to get her to care about the competition in the beginning.

“Every day she was like, ‘Ugh, I don’t want to do it,’ but now that she’s here, she obviously doesn’t want to make a fool of herself, so she’s really putting her effort into it now,” he told Joe Vulpis.

However, after the season premiere, the professional dancer revealed that he found the fashion publicist “crying in the bathroom” due to the influx of hate messages.

“It really broke my heart,” he said in an emotional TikTok urging his fans to give her a “second chance.”

Despite his request, the couple was sent home in the second week, meaning Delvey must fly back to her home base in New York City, as per her agreement with ICE.

Delvey was convicted in 2019 and served nearly four years in prison after being accused of multiple theft-related offenses. She returned to NYC society in 2024.
