Hulu’s The Other Black Girl explores Nella’s (Sinclair Daniel) journey as the only Black woman at a New York City publishing house. “I would love it if Sarah could expose Maddie. Because I think of all the people who would be snooping around, it would be her,” Lewis teased during an exclusive interview with Us“It’s so funny because Sarah always says the things that no one wants to say.”

Sarah is upset when Matty is hired to work on Olympia’s (Skye P.Marshall) team.

“She’s kind of struggling with the age difference and she’s like, ‘Okay, who is this older person who’s just doing all these jobs that Sarah’s worked her whole life for?’ So she kind of picks up that attitude from herself,” Lewis explained. “But if Sarah said something, people would probably think she’s just competitive and anxious.”

Lewis doesn’t think anyone would believe Sarah if she found out the truth about Matty, adding: “If Sarah said, ‘Hey, look at all this information,’ she’d just be told, ‘Oh, that’s Sarah being Sarah again.’ She overanalyzes everything and that’s part of what makes her feel different at work.”

It looks like you can go home again! In recent years, television has been overtaken by returning shows that have ended long (and not so long) after being canceled. From sitcoms and game shows to dramas and cartoons, the list of TV reboots and revivals is long. While some series, including Frasier and True Blood, only (…)

Despite Matty keeping this big secret from everyone, her friendships with Sarah, Billy (David Del Rio) and the others will continue to delve deeper.

“When Matty comes into the firm, (Sarah) meets someone who is strangely patient with the way she behaves,” Lewis noted. “But (Matty) also has a very gentle way of teaching her a lesson and challenging her a little bit. When Matty comes into this law firm and starts talking to people, people are completely thrown off. Because (people like Sarah) have never really had to deal with someone who is so understanding. She’s super smart and can keep up — but she’s someone who brings out the best in them before they even realize it.”

Lewis got to share many scenes with Bates on Matlockwhat an honor it was for her. “When (Kathy) arrives and the way she devours a script before she even gets on set — she’s a walking Hollywood cinematic documentary,” she raved. “I think, ‘Wow, everything you do is so present and so intentional.’ She could be so tender and yet so cutting (as her character). Just working with her makes my job so incredibly easy.”
