Tailgating and bag policy in effect prior to Saturday’s Mizzou football game

The University of Missouri Tigers are preparing for their fourth sold-out game of the season against the Vanderbilt Commodores. The parking lots at and around Memorial Stadium will once again be full as thousands of Mizzou fans descend on Columbia.

To promote safety and a positive game day experience, Mizzou Football asks fans to be responsible and abide by the tailgating rules.

Tents or awnings may not exceed 10 feet by 10 feet and may not block sidewalks or traffic lanes. Any tailgating extras such as grills or generators must remain within the designated tailgating area and not be allowed to spill onto walkways.

Parking attendants will have free blue recycling bags at each parking lot and fans are encouraged to use them for their recycling. All hot coals used for grilling must be completely extinguished and placed in the designated hot coal bins at the entrances to each parking lot to prevent fires.

Generators are prohibited in the campus parking garages.

Personal drones are not allowed on Mizzou property. All animals must be leashed and all litter must be cleaned up.

According to Missouri’s alcohol laws, anyone under the age of 21 may not purchase, possess, or consume alcoholic beverages at any time. Large quantities of alcohol, such as kegs, are also not permitted.

When entering the stadium, fans are requested not to bring any bags. However, small handbags and large plastic bags are allowed.

All bags larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches must be clear and no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. This can be a standard clear bag or a one gallon plastic freezer bag.

Popular bags such as backpacks, fanny packs and belt bags are not allowed.

Each fan is allowed one bag and may also carry additional items in their pockets or around their neck. Blankets are permitted in cold weather. In the event that you require a non-approved bag for medical reasons, you are encouraged to call ahead to verify eligibility. Fans with medical exemptions will also be required to undergo special screening at gates 2W and 2E.

The university asks fans to behave respectfully and cheerfully and to report any dangerous or disruptive behavior to a university employee.
