WICHITA, Kansas (KWCH) – Meteorologist Peyton Sanders expects showers and thunderstorms to continue across the state tonight and Sunday.

Widespread showers and thunderstorms will continue across the state tonight and tonight. The overall threat of severe weather remains low.

Showers and storms will continue Sunday, especially in the morning. Activity will gradually fade in the evening as the storm system begins to move east of Kansas.

Besides the rain, the other big focus will be the much cooler temperatures behind a strong cold front. Afternoon temperatures will only be in the mid 50s to near 60 degrees across the state.

The rain will stop on Sunday evening, but Monday will remain cooler with temperatures between 17 and 21 degrees Celsius.

Mild weather is expected all week, with highs around 21 degrees Celsius through next weekend.
