Never Too Early: Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater Books First Show Next Summer

Summer is off to an early start, as party-rock country singer Thomas Rhett announced on Monday that he will be performing at Northwell at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh on July 12, with Tucker Wetmore and Dasha opening.

This may be the earliest announcement of next summer’s concerts in the Wantagh venue’s history. Three more are scheduled for this month and next: Staind and Breaking Benjamin (Sept. 19), Post Malone (Sept. 29) and Anderson.Paak (Oct. 11).

Tickets for Rhett go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m. ET at ThomasRhett.com. Rhett’s “Better with Boots Tour” kicks off June 5 in Rogers, Arkansas and concludes September 26 in Ridgefield, Washington.

Rhett last performed on Long Island on July 22, 2023, when he took his “Home Team Tour” to UBS Arena in Elmont.

“So excited to announce the BETTER IN BOOTS TOUR 2025!!” Rhett, 34, son of country singer Rhett Akins, wrote on Instagram. “Can’t wait to hit the road next summer with @tuckerwetmore, @thecastellows & @dashamusic!” he added, referencing sister trio The Castellows, who will open for the dates Dasha isn’t playing.

“Oh bro, this is gonna be a party,” Wetmore responded to the post.

Multiplatinum singer-songwriter Rhett first topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart in 2015 with two No. 1 singles, “Crash and Burn” and the Grammy Award-nominated Best Country Song, “Die a Happy Man.” Since then, he has amassed 18 more Country Airplay chart hits, with two songs also reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.

He recently released his seventh studio album, “About a Woman,” a tribute to his wife, childhood friend Lauren Gregory Akins, with whom he has four children.

The five-time Grammy nominee was a guest on the season 25 finale of NBC’s singing competition “The Voice” this year and served as an advisor to Kelly Clarkson’s team in Season 15.

His most recent country hits include “Angels Don’t Always Have Wings” and “Half of Me” (with Riley Green). In 2020, Rhett and Carrie Underwood became the first Entertainer of the Year co-winners in the more than half-century history of the Academy of Country Music Awards.
