Dabo Swinney shares a relatable anecdote from Clemson’s bye week

Dabo Swinney had a week off because Clemson had nothing to do. It looks like he put his time off to good use.

At his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Swinney said he Finally could sign up for YouTube TV and install the app on his phone, iPad and TV so he could watch multiple games at once.

Funny enough, Swinney said it took him a while to get the hang of the technology. But once he did, he was able to watch countless games from all over the country all day long.

“I’m a huge YouTube TV fanatic now,” Swinney said. “I finally figured out how to get the damn app on my phone. It’s like an act of Congress. I mean, you have to have birth certificates and all kinds of stuff to get some of this stuff. I don’t know all those codes and ‘who’s your carrier?’ … I mean, there’s some crazy stuff on there.

“But anyway, I have the YouTube TV and man, it was awesome. I had my phone on. I had my iPad on with 4 screens. And I had the TV on. I imagine some of you guys were probably doing the same thing. Because this is what you do for a living, right? You guys need to know what the hell is going on… and I mean, we had a lot of teams playing that we were going to play. And so that’s basically what I did all day. I just watched baseball all day. And it was awesome.”

Below is a video of Swinney discussing his Saturday:

Due to the way the calendar is set this year, this is actually the first of two bye weeks Clemson will have this season. The Tigers are also off the weekend of October 26th.

This week Clemson prepares to take on a struggling NC State team. While the Wolfpack are off to a slow start in 2024, they have defeated Clemson in 2 of the past 3 seasons.

Kick-off is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 12:00 noon (Eastern Time).
