New York magazine has announced that it has suspended its Washington correspondent, Olivia Nuzzi, over allegations that she had a romantic relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

A spokesperson for the publication said Stands that Nuzzi recently “admitted to the magazine’s editors that she had a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while covering the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards regarding conflicts of interest and disclosure.”

“If the magazine had known about this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign,” the spokesperson said. Stands. “An internal review of her published work found no inaccuracies or evidence of bias. She is currently on leave from the journal and the journal is conducting a more thorough third-party review. We regret this breach of our readers’ trust.”

Nuzzi initially did not share with New York magazine that she was allegedly involved in a relationship with Kennedy and that the outlet only recently became aware of it, people familiar with the matter said. Stands.

The alleged relationship only began after a profile she wrote about Kennedy was published last November, a person close to Nuzzi said. Stands, and added that she did not use Kennedy as a source when covering the campaign. Another acquaintance told the outlet that the relationship likely began around New Year’s.

Kennedy, who is married to Curb your enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines, initially ran in the Democratic primary before running as an independent. He recently dropped out of the race and endorsed former President Donald Trump. A spokesman for Kennedy denied the claim that he had had a relationship with Nuzzi.

“Mr. Kennedy met Olivia Nuzzi only once in his life for an interview she requested, which resulted in a damning article,” the spokesperson said. Stands.

This spring, when Kennedy was still in the race, Nuzzi said The New York Times, “It’s not a race between two men. It’s a race between three men.”

“A majority of Americans say they would not be happy with another ‘lesser of two evils’ election, and they are fortunate because they have a slate of third-party candidates to choose from,” she added. “One of those candidates, Robert F Kennedy Jr., is competing competitively in the polls, especially among young people, and he is steadily gaining access to the ballot box across the country.”

Kennedy has since tried to get rid of ballots in the swing states, as he now supports Trump.

The Independent attempted to reach Nuzzi for comment.
