Stevenson ran six times for 23 yards and lost a fumble in the Patriots’ 24-3 loss to the Jets on Thursday night.

The script and a stingy Jets defense conspired to limit Stevenson to his lowest numbers of the season through three games. Stevenson had topped 20 carries in each of his first two games, and in addition to not coming close to that workload on Thursday, the fourth-year back’s dropped fumble at the Patriots’ 35-yard line early in the fourth quarter led to a New York field goal that essentially sealed New England’s fate. Stevenson has a tough assignment in his attempt to bounce back in Week 4, as he’ll face the 49ers defense in a road trip on Sunday, Sept. 29.
