Concord’s disastrous launch would lead to its director’s self-demotion

The ripples from Concord’s seismic implosion have been raging since Sony decided to take the game offline earlier this month. Now, the game’s director has reportedly decided to bid it farewell gracefully. reported that Firewalk Studios game director Ryan Ellis told employees he was stepping down from his role. Ellis, who co-founded Firewalk after serving as creative director of Lot 2remains with the studio, but only in a supporting role.

Meanwhile, Firewalk staff is still waiting to hear what Sony plans to do with their underperforming game. Just two weeks after Concord’s release on September 6, Sony issued refunds to anyone who purchased the game on PlayStation 5 or PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Sony said in a statement that it was pulling the game to “explore options, including options that better reach our players.” Of course, Kotaku reports that many Firewalk employees are concerned about the status of their jobs after the from Concord disappointing release.
