Temperatures will be close to triple digits this afternoon

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – Good morning Texoma! Today will be another warm day for the area. Morning temperatures will start in the upper 60s around sunrise and climb into the upper 90s by this afternoon. Parts of Texoma could even reach the low triple digits, but most of us will likely stay just below that mark.

Although it will remain dry during the day, there is a 10-20% chance of showers/storms in northwest Texoma tonight. The window of opportunity for storms is from 8:00 PM to midnight. These storms could swell to severe status (60 mph winds and quarter-sized hail), but will generally remain below severe levels.

Thursday and Friday will be even warmer, as high temperatures are forecast in the low 100s on both days. Skies will be mostly sunny on both days with winds from the south at 5 to 15 mph. There is also about a 10% chance of rain on Thursday, but it will remain mostly dry.

Saturday will continue the warm trend as temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s. Our weather pattern will begin to change on Sunday as a cool front approaches Texoma. Temperatures will drop to the low 90s to upper 80s early next week. Scattered rain chances are also possible on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday of next week, but details are still sketchy at this time.

Happy Wednesday!
