Waterspout Confirmed on Bald Head Island

BALD HEAD ISLAND, NC (WECT) – A waterspout has been confirmed to have formed on Sunday, September 15 at approximately 11:52 a.m.

“A waterspout moved inland north of East Beach Road on the east side of Bald Head Island. This event was captured on video by a homeowner on the north side of East Beach Road. After moving inland, the tornado moved west over marshes and into a wooded area near Cape Creek Road, where it quickly dissipated,” according to an NWS report.

The waterspout ended at 11:54 a.m.

No damage was observed in the area where it disappeared.
