INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Another day, another empty glass of water from above. What’s not helping our drought are these very warm temperatures.

This forecast looks to keep warm through the last few days of summer, with rain still a bit out of reach. Since August 1, several locations across the state have had a rain deficit of more than three inches.

Tuesday evening: Tonight the weather will be mostly clear and cool with lows around 17 degrees.

Wednesday: We hope to match our longest dry spell of the year on Wednesday. The count is at 12 days and we have taken another step towards the official designation of “desert”. All joking aside, humidity will rise and ride along the uncomfortable line with highs in the upper 80s to even low 90s in places.

Thursday: Look, we can pretty much repeat Wednesday’s weather for Thursday. That’s pointless, since it’s still dry. The highs will drop back to the upper 80s.

7 day forecast: The warm and dry pattern continues into this weekend. Saturday is almost certain to be 15 days in a row without any measurable rain. This streak hasn’t happened in almost two years. To take it a step further, it’s been nine years since we’ve had a streak of 20+ days. There is a HINT of hope for the possibility of rain on Sunday and early next week, but that chance is pretty low for now.
