CFB Week 3 Takeaways: Florida State’s Horrible, Not Good, Very Bad Start and More | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats & Rumors

What a nightmare this season has become in Tallahassee.

Losing to Georgia Tech? Surprising, but not disastrous. Losing to Boston College at home? Okay, not good, the offense looked bad again. Scoring just 12 points after a 12-day absence in a home loss to Memphis?

Guys, it’s panic time in Tallahassee.

Forget the College Football Playoff at this point. Only a shocking run of results in the ACC could save Florida State, which is already 0-2 in the conference and 0-3 overall. Nothing the Seminoles have shown so far suggests they have a miracle in store this season.

This is more of an “avoid implosion” situation. The momentum FSU has generated over the past two years in 10- and 13-win seasons is rapidly waning and could disappear altogether if the ‘Noles miss a bowl.

Given how much DJ Uiagalelei has struggled, head coach Mike Norvell also has a quarterback dilemma. Uiagalelei isn’t FSU’s only problem—the O-line isn’t doing him or the running game any favors—but something needs to change, and that could be the QB.

Florida State closes out the month against Cal and SMU, then Clemson comes to town the first weekend of October.
