Tito Jackson’s three sons mourn his death at age 70.

Taj, TJ and Taryll Jackson posted a joint statement on their band 3T’s Instagram account on Monday after hearing the news of their father’s passing.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson, is gone,” the statement began.

“We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being,” the siblings continued. “Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson of the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as ‘Coach Tito’ or some may know him as ‘Poppa T.'”

“He will still be missed tremendously,” they added. “It will always be ‘Tito Time’ for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is ‘Love one another.’ We love you, Dad.”

The post included photos of Tito through the years, including when he was a kid in the Jackson 5. There were also photos of Tito with Taj, 51, TJ, 46, and Taryll, 49, which Tito shared with his late ex-wife Dee Dee Martes.

Tito died of a heart attack Sunday while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma, former Jackson family manager Steve Manning told Entertainment Tonight.

The official cause of death has not yet been determined.

Tito, the third of Katherine and Joe Jackson’s ten children, performed with brothers Jackie and Marlon as The Jacksons, performing in Scotland, California and England in the summer of 2024.

A few days before his death, Tito posted a message on Facebook from Munich, Germany, on September 11, where he and his brothers attended a memorial service for his late brother Michael Jackson during a tour of Europe.

“Before our show in Munich, my brothers Jackie, Marlon and I visited the beautiful memorial to our beloved brother Michael Jackson,” Tito wrote.

“We are so grateful for this special place that not only honors his memory, but our shared legacy. Thank you for keeping his spirit alive.”

Tito was one of the original members of the Jackson Brothers, along with Jermaine and Jackie. This group was formed in 1964 under the leadership of their father. In 1966, the group expanded to the Jackson 5, adding Michael and Marlon.

In addition to the huge success of the Jackson 5, Tito also had a solo career, releasing two studio albums: “Tito Time” in 2016 and “Under Your Spell” in 2021.

He also managed his sons’ band, 3T. Taj, TJ and Taryll all appeared on Lifetime’s 2015 reality show “The Jacksons: Next Generation.”

Tito’s death comes more than 15 years after his brother Michael died in 2009 at the age of 50.

The “Thriller” singer died in 2009 from acute propofol poisoning. The King of Pop’s physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 for recklessly drugging him with dangerous amounts of the anesthetic propofol and other tranquilizers.
