Jermaine Johnson feared he tore Achilles tendon after Jets injury

Jets head coach Robert Saleh confirmed that edge rusher Jermaine Johnson is suspected to have torn his Achilles tendon during Sunday’s 24-17 win over the Titans in Nashville.

Johnson was stretchered off the field after suffering a non-contact injury on an attempted sack on Tennessee quarterback Will Levis in the third quarter.

When Levis was out of reach, Johnson collapsed as he tried to run.

Tests will be conducted on Monday to confirm this, Saleh added.

Jets defenseman Solomon Thomas came up to Johnson and hugged him, as did several other members of the Jets as he was carried off the field.

In his third season with the Jets, Johnson has totaled 56 tackles, 10 sacks and one touchdown.
