The biggest story of the game was that Wisconsin QB Tyler Van Dyke was forced off the field with a knee injury in the first quarter, and the Badgers have had virtually no offense with the backup QB since then.

They were able to break up a few runs on the Alabama defense and got into field goal position twice, but only converted one of them. Alabama’s defense has been solid overall, with the biggest issue being a few tackle mishaps that I think can be attributed to the fact that they’re playing a P4 team for the first time this season, and some of the Wisconsin RBs are gaining extra yards through contact.

Offensively, things have been a bit more difficult for the Tide. Jalen Milroe has missed a few throws and the offense seems to get bogged down on bad throws to WRs or RBs in the flats quite a bit. That said, Milroe has made up for it with a great TD throw to Ryan Williams on a go ball, followed by a 2-play drive to close out the half with a deep shot to Williams and then a perfectly placed post-corner route to Germie Bernard in the endzone.

The deep ball is alive and well for Alabama and Milroe this game, and that’s been the story on offense so far. The offensive line has looked more cohesive night and day with Kadyn Proctor back in the lineup, and Milroe hasn’t had to run for his life on passing plays so far.

Freshman WR really looks to become a focal point of the offense as he leads the team with 4 catches for 78 yards and a TD in one half.

There have been a lot of designed QB runs, and it’s come at the expense of carries from Jam Miller and Justice Haynes, but overall the Tide are averaging 6 yards per carry on 16 attempts, which is definitely an impressively efficient rushing attack.

The Tide will need to work a bit more on sustaining drives and eating up clock in the second half, and the defense can’t let up. But Alabama is largely in control of the game now, even though Wisconsin’s defense is definitely doing its best to make things difficult for the Tide.
