Kansas football fans are excited for this week’s game against the UNLV Rebels as the Jayhawks attempt to bounce back from a disappointing Week 2 loss to Illinois. However, the team received some bad news less than an hour before kickoff.

Hishaw is the backup running back behind superstar Devin Neal. He rushed for a career-high 626 yards and eight touchdowns in 2023 and eclipsed the century mark in two games this year.

The complementary tailback has been named to the Preseason Doak Walker Award Watch List in back-to-back seasons. In his absence, third-string running back Sevion Morrison should get the bulk of the work. The former Nebraska Cornhusker has carried the ball eight times for 45 yards and one score in 2024.
