MINNEAPOLIS — DHL, the delivery company that is known for its founder, top salesman and election denier Mike Lindell, is suing MyPillow, alleging it owes nearly $800,000 in unpaid bills.

The lawsuit is the latest legal dispute between MyPillow and Lindell, a prominent Donald Trump supporter who has amplified the former president’s false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him.

In the lawsuit filed Monday in Hennepin County Superior Court in Minneapolis, DHL’s eCommerce unit alleges that MyPillow is violating a contract that requires the Minnesota-based company to pay for all package delivery services within 15 days of invoicing. The lawsuit says it reached a settlement in May 2023 that requires MyPillow to pay $775,000 in 24 monthly installments, starting in April of this year.

But the lawsuit alleges that MyPillow has made only partial payments of that settlement, totaling $64,583.34, the last of which was received on June 6. DHL says it notified MyPillow on July 2 that it was in default.

The lawsuit seeks $799,925.59, plus interest and attorney fees.

Lindell told The Associated Press on Thursday that he did not know what the lawsuit was about, but that his company decided more than a year ago to stop using DHL because of a dispute over shipments that he said were DHL’s fault.

Lawsuits and billing disputes are nothing new for the “MyPillow Guy.” He’s being sued for defamation by two voting machine companies. Attorneys who originally defended him in those cases dropped out over unpaid bills.

A credit crunch last year disrupted cash flow at MyPillow after it lost Fox News as a major advertising platform and was dropped by several national retailers.

In February, a judge upheld a $5 million arbitration award to a software developer who disputed data that Lindell said proved China interfered in the 2020 election.
