These are the deals that carriers are offering for the new iPhone 16

If you’re looking to buy a new iPhone 16, you could be faced with a not-insignificant wait time (since shipping estimates for the Pro Max model already stretch into October) along with a not-so-significant markup. Or, if you’d rather, you could get one for free.

The launch of new iPhones inevitably comes with incentives from carriers, looking to lure new customers or lock existing ones into a new multi-year contract. And this year is no different. In line for an upgrade? Here’s a look at the deals several wireless carriers are offering this year.

Verizon

Both existing and new customers who qualify for the company’s Unlimited Ultimate plan can get an iPhone 16 Pro for free (or up to $1,000 off any phone in the iPhone 16 line) when they trade in an older model, regardless of condition. (Protip: It doesn’t have to be your most recent phone. If you have one that’s long out of date, it might be worth trading it in so you have a more recent backup in case of damage.)

Members or newcomers to the Unlimited Plus game can get up to $830 off. If you opt for the Unlimited Welcome subscription, you will get $415 off.

AT&T

Come into an AT&T store with a qualifying trade-in and it doesn’t matter which plan you choose. The company is offering three types of deals to new and eligible existing customers:

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro – Free

iPhone 16 Plus – Up to $830 Off

iPhone 16 Pro Max – Up to $1,000 Off

The company is also offering a free iPhone 16 Pro Max to people who sign up for AT&T Fiber.

T-Mobile

T-Mobile’s deals are very similar to AT&T’s, except you have to sign up for a qualifying unlimited plan.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro – Free with trade-in

iPhone 16 Plus – Up to $830 Off Trade-In

iPhone 16 Pro Max – Up to $1,000 Off Trade-In
