Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa ruled out of game with concussion

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was forced to leave Thursday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills after suffering a concussion late in the third quarter.

Tagovailoa was suspended from the game minutes after leaving the field.

The injury occurred when Tagovailoa, looking for a first down, dropped his shoulder at the end of his run. He took a hit to the head when he was tackled by Bills safety Damar Hamlin with 4:24 left in the quarter.

Tagovailoa remained on the ground and was quickly helped by Dolphins trainers, while concerned teammates took to the field on one knee.

Tagovailoa walked off the court under his own power and went to the locker room. He was replaced by Skylar Thompson.

Tagovailoa has a history of concussions and suffered at least two during the 2022 season.

On Thursday night, he was responsible for 17 of 25 carries for 145 yards, with one touchdown and three interceptions, as the Dolphins trailed 31-10.
