Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia), a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, criticized someone in his entourage for a racist online post about Vice President Kamala Harris.

Greene was responding to a post on X from Trump’s deputy and far-right media figure Laura Loomer, which contained racist comments about Harris’ Native American ancestry.

“This is abhorrent and extremely racist,” Greene said in response. “It does not represent who we are as Republicans or MAGA. This does not represent President Trump. This type of behavior should never be tolerated.”

Greene also called on Loomer to remove the post.

“Her rhetoric and her tone does not sit with the base, does not sit with MAGA, does not sit with most Republicans that I know,” Greene also told reporters at the U.S. Capitol. “I condemn it completely; I’m over it.”

Conservative firebrand MTG previously criticised by party over white nationalist ties

Greene is a conservative, fiery politician who was elected in 2020 and became known for his inflammatory comments.

Earlier this year, a conversation with Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, went viral when Greene said, “I think your fake eyelashes are ruining what you’re reading,” prompting Crockett to call Greene a racist.

Greene also tried to unseat Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson after he approved a foreign aid package for Ukraine.

In 2022, Greene spoke at a rally of white nationalists who support Russian President Vladimir Putin, drawing criticism from the leader of the Republican National Committee.

Greene defended her actions at the time, saying she had focused her speech on “God and freedom” and that she did not want to engage in the “game of guilt by association.”
