WEST SACRAMENTO – Amazon said it is closing two of its California warehouses, including one in West Sacramento.

The company says it has decided not to renew its leases for its facilities in West Sacramento and Irvine.

Amazon said in a statement that it is trying to help workers at the closing factories find new jobs within the company.

“We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our team and are supporting affected employees as they find new opportunities within Amazon, including at nearby distribution locations,” said Amazon spokesperson Sam Stephenson.

Amazon says there are no impacts to customers.

According to a state release, the closure of the West Sacramento warehouse will impact about 160 employees.

The Sacramento area is home to a number of Amazon warehouses, including one right next to Sacramento International Airport

Amazon is also opening an Amazon Fresh grocery store in Elk Grove on Thursday.
