How many VMAs did Taylor Swift win last night?

Taylor Swift received her 30th moonperson last night at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, making her the most-awarded solo artist in VMA history and tying Beyoncé’s record for most VMAs of all time.

Swift won a total of seven trophies at the 2024 VMAs on Sept. 11, including the night’s biggest prize, video of the year. The pop star started the night with 23 VMA statuettes.

“Fortnight,” her collaboration with Post Malone from her album “The Tortured Poets Department,” won awards for song of the summer, best collaboration, best editing and best direction, as well as video of the year. Swift herself won artist of the year and best pop artist.

Swift’s seven new trophies tie her for the most wins overall, MTV said in a press release. MTV tweeted that this also makes her the most awarded solo artist.

Swift ties with Beyoncé for the artist with the most wins. Beyoncé has won 26 VMAs as a solo artist, two with Destiny’s Child and two with her husband, Jay-Z, as The Carters, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. She was nominated in three categories at the 2024 VMAs but did not win.

Both Swift and Beyoncé were nominated for most iconic performance at the VMAs, but that went to Katy Perry, who also won the Video Vanguard Award this year.

Over the years, Swift has brought home moon people for “You Belong With Me,” “Blank Space,” “You Need to Calm Down,” “Anti-Hero,” and more songs from her various eras.

Beyoncé has received VMAs for her hits “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”, “Run the World (Girls)”, “Formation”, “Hold Up” and other hits.
