As a Latina, I love Karol G, so I knew I was in for something special when she returned to the VMAs stage. The Colombian powerhouse brought merengue to Long Island with her latest song, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” which details how she wants someone who’s unavailable. Not only is the song relatable, it’s also incredibly catchy and guaranteed to get anyone out of their seats—just ask Taylor Swift. The best part? Karol represented every Latin American country, not just her native Colombia, and she had people from all walks of life celebrating her as she sang it on stage.

Okay, so LISA won Best K-Pop at the VMAs twice now and I know *damn* well that her epic performance at this year’s ceremony could convince anyone to get into the genre. With the release of new solo material, her charisma drips effortlessly on bombastic numbers like “Rockstar.” Though her “New Woman” colleague Rosalía didn’t appear onstage with her, LISA still created a moment surrounded by a dominatrix dance troupe and a giant star-shaped arch behind her — and somehow her star shone brighter than ever as she strutted down a moving catwalk all by herself.

Let’s pretend we’re shocked, okay? I’ve been a carpenter since her Singular era, and I’m glad the rest of the world finally caught on and took notice of Sabrina’s undeniable star power thanks to some “me espresso.” Of course, Sab’s VMAs performance was on point from head to toe with her radiant tan and blonde locks, but her signature flirty stage presence took the cake as she made her entrance atop a massive dangling diamond. While I don’t think Sabrina’s Short and sweet hits “Please, Please, Please” and “Espresso,” she made her live debut of “Taste” with a cheeky nod to MTV’s infamous moon persona in the form of astronaut dancers… and making out with a chic blue alien. Mark my words: This is *definitely* one of the most iconic VMAs moments of the decade.
