The daughters of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl have deleted their social media accounts after the rock icon admitted cheating on their mother and fathering a baby girl.

The 55-year-old Foo Fighters frontman took to social media Tuesday night to admit for the first time in nearly a year that he had an extramarital affair and fathered a child outside of his marriage to Jordyn Blum.

In the hours following the post, Grohl’s two eldest children — Violet, 18, and Harper, 15 — appear to have deleted their social media accounts.

The musician and former Nirvana drummer revealed the news in a statement on Instagram, urging them to make amends. He wrote: “I love my wife and my children, and I am committed to doing everything I can to earn their trust and forgiveness.”

The musician added that he planned to be a “loving and supportive parent” to the new baby.

The rock legend divorced his first wife, Jennifer Leigh Youngblood, in 1997 after she admitted to cheating.

In 2001, Grohl met 48-year-old Blum, and the couple tied the knot in 2003.

The couple have three daughters together: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.

The musician has previously stressed the importance of his family in his daily life. In 2007, he told The Guardian: “(My wife) Jordyn and (daughter) Violet are the anchor that keeps me from disappearing completely.”

Blum was reportedly an MTV producer when she first met Grohl.

The rock star later admitted in an interview with Elle that he wasn’t ready for a serious relationship when the two first met, admitting that he didn’t return his now-married wife’s calls after a few dates.

However, it didn’t take long for the frontman to change his mind: “After three months I had an epiphany and I called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d ever hear from you again.'”
