Focus group responds to Trump-Harris confrontation over Project 2025

A focus group that responded live to the presidential debate appeared to have strong opinions about the controversial conservative plan, Project 2025.

Project 2025 was launched by the Heritage Foundation as part of its Presidential Transition Project for the 2024 cycle. The project has become a talking point for Democrats, who have attempted to portray it as radical and link it to former President Donald Trump.

During Tuesday’s presidential debate, support for Vice President Kamala Harris from Democrats and independents soared as she spoke out strongly against Project 2025.

“In this debate tonight, you’re going to hear the same old hardcover playbook. A lot of lies, a lot of grievances, a lot of name-calling. What you’re going to hear tonight is a detailed and dangerous plan called Project 2025 that the former president plans to implement if he were to be re-elected,” Harris said. “I believe deeply that the American people want a president who understands the importance of bringing us together.”

However, Trump denied any involvement with the group.

“As you know, and as she knows better than anyone, I have nothing to do with Project 2025. It’s there. I haven’t read it. I don’t want to read it on purpose. I’m not going to read it,” Trump said during Tuesday’s debate.

“This was a group of people who got together. They came up with some ideas, I think some were good, some were bad. But it doesn’t make any difference,” he added. “Everybody knows I’m an open book. Everybody knows what I’m going to do.”

However, all three voting blocs overwhelmingly supported Trump when he said he was going to “slash taxes and create a great economy, like I’ve done before.”
