A Fox News Digital focus group of Republicans, Democrats and Independents used dials to respond live to former President Trumps comments during Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential debate on Tuesday, in which she said he “took a bullet in the head” for left-wing rhetoric.

The focus group consisted of 7 Democrats, 5 Independents, and 5 Republicans, represented by the blue, yellow, and red lines respectively.

Trump’s comments about taking a bullet in the head came amid discussions about the alleged “weaponization” of the Justice Department.

The Republican candidate claimed that it was Harris and the Democrats who had used the Justice Department as a weapon, “not me.”

Focus participants responded moderately to this statement, with Democrats scoring slightly higher.

“I probably got a bullet in my head because of the things they’re saying about me. They’re talking about democracy — I’m a threat to democracy. They’re a threat to democracy,” Trump said.

With these comments, Republican respondents responded most positively, as evidenced by the red line shooting up. Independents, meanwhile, remained unresponsive, while Democrats declined slightly.

“The bogus ‘Russia, Russia, Russia’ investigation that went nowhere,” Trump continued, before being interrupted by ABC News host David Muir.

The shooter was later identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. His motives remain unknown.
