Live US Presidential Debate: ‘Trump Left Us the Worst Assault on Democracy’: Kamala Harris

Live Updates - 'Trump has left us with the worst attack on democracy': Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris vs. Donald Trump: The debate will take place without an audience.

At a pivotal moment in the US presidential election campaign, former President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris will soon face off in Pennsylvania in their first televised debate.

Kamala Harris, 59, who has a significant lead among female voters according to recent polls, is expected to challenge Trump on reproductive rights, especially given his recent, seemingly contradictory statements on abortion.

Conversely, Trump is likely to attack Harris on issues like the economy and immigration.

The battle for the White House between Kamala Harris, who is Black and South Asian, and Donald Trump appears to be a close race. According to the latest polls, Trump leads Harris nationally by 48% to 47%.

According to AFP, Harris has spent the past five days in intense debate preparation, sequestered in a hotel. Trump’s team, by contrast, has indicated that the former president has taken a more relaxed approach in the run-up to the debate.

The debate will last 90 minutes and will be held without an audience. Tune in at 9 p.m. Eastern Time (1 a.m. GMT, 6:30 a.m. IST).
