49ers News: Niners Ridicule Aaron Rodgers and the Jets 32-19

This was expected to be a clash of the titans. The New York Jets were unable to stop the San Francisco 49ers’ offensive onslaught, with the Niners scoring on eight consecutive drives after their first point.

Despite a single drive slipping away in the third quarter, Brock Purdy’s resilience shone through. He was an outstanding performer, consistently making plays within the offensive structure. Purdy’s final tally of 19-for-29 for 231 yards, averaging eight yards per attempt, is a testament to his determination.

Jauan Jennings led the 49ers in receiving yards with 64, but it was tied across the board as Deebo Samuel had 54, Kyle Juszczyk had 40 and George Kittle had 40. The receiver the 49ers invested heavily in, Brandon Aiyuk, had just 28 yards, but it appeared to be a rusty game for him as he struggled to find his rhythm and connection with the quarterback.

For all those weapons, it was Jordan Mason tonight, who ran for 147 yards on 28 carries. After a slow start where they struggled to find momentum, the offensive line stepped up and established their will, both on the ground and by keeping Purdy clean.

The 49ers defense was a force to be reckoned with. They held Aaron Rodgers to just 167 passing yards and the Jets to a meager 2.3 yards per carry, only slightly bumped up to 3.4 on the final drive. Garrett Wilson managed 52 yards and Breece Hall was held to under 100 yards from scrimmage. This was a major win for the 49ers, especially with Nick Sorensen’s successful debut as coordinator.

The 49ers went just 2-for-5 in the red zone offensively, needing Jake Moody to make six field goals. Defensively, they allowed the Jets to convert 60 percent of their attempts. Those are the two areas the 49ers will need to clean up in an otherwise impressive statement win over a team considered the best in the league.
