Rams’ Puka Nacua aggravates knee injury, heading to IR

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua suffered an aggravated knee injury Sunday night against the Detroit Lions and will be placed on the injured list, coach Sean McVay said Monday.

McVay said Nacua has a sprained PCL. He will miss at least four games by being placed on IR.

Nacua suffered the injury while catching a ball midway through the second quarter of the 26-20 overtime loss to the Lions. He limped off the field and went to the blue medical tent. Nacua later returned to the game for a brief period before leaving.

He had four catches for 35 yards in Sunday’s game before being injured.

Nacua missed several weeks of training camp after suffering a knee injury during a joint practice. He returned to training on August 26 and was listed as a full participant in the week leading up to Sunday’s game.

Nacua set records last season for most receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486) by a rookie in NFL history.
