It is not certain that Puka Nacua will be ready to play on Sunday when the Los Angeles Rams take on the Arizona Cardinals.

On Monday afternoon, ESPN’s Adam Schefter on X reported that Nacua “is expected to be evaluated week-to-week” after leaving Sunday’s season opener against the Detroit Lions due to a knee injury, though the BYU sophomore wide receiver is still undergoing testing, according to Schefter.

According to Schefter, the injury is an aggravation of the injury that kept him out for much of training camp.

Nacua was taken out in the second quarter on Sunday after making a catch, but returned shortly after only to disappear again for good after a short appearance.

The NBC broadcast of the game reported that Nacua was stretchered off the field at halftime. Nacua, 23, finished the night with four catches for 35 yards.

Nacua was selected by the Rams in the fifth round of the 2023 draft (177th overall). He was a revelation as a rookie last season, setting NFL records for most receptions in a season by a rookie (105) and most receiving yards in a season by a rookie (1,486).

He also won Pro Bowl honors and was named second-team All-Pro.
