Legendary ’90s wrestling champion makes long-awaited return

  • This iconic wrestler, now 67 years old, became a five-time WWF champion
  • He returns to his birthplace Calgary, Canada

An iconic wrestler makes his return tonight on Monday Night Raw.

Raw makes its season premiere in Calgary at 8:00 p.m. ET.

And the legendary Bret Hart will be in attendance, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has confirmed.

Hart, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006 (and again as a tag team member in 2019), has not appeared on Raw in nine years.

But that will change for the five-time WWF champion starting Monday.

“You absolutely don’t want to miss this,” Triple H wrote on X.

The reason for Hart’s presence at the event has not been confirmed.

However, the 67-year-old is originally from Calgary and the venue for Monday night’s Raw, the Saddledome, is expected to be demolished in 2027, CityNews Calgary previously reported.

Hart retired from professional wrestling in 2000 after suffering a concussion during a fight against Goldberg late the previous year.

Hart rose to fame when he formed a tag team with his brother-in-law, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, under the name The Hart Foundation.

Later he also won in singles matches against ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper and Ric Flair. With that last fight he won his first WWF title.
